"Half my job at home is making sure we don't have any," Wriothesley agrees with a laugh that's more humourless than he intended it to be. It's hard to keep up his usual cheer under the circumstances. "I don't know if more gutters will actually help or if they'd just flood."

How long is this even going to last? The flood of Neuvillette's tears hasn't let up at all and it's been... quite some time. He can't help but worry, which is why he's perched in the dryest section of the lounge, trying to keep an eye on him. "Once this passes it most likely won't recur, but I don't know when it's going to go away."

"Which does make some sense," Kaeya muses. The humorlessness is not lost on him though. He crosses his arms and asks, "That bad?"

There's a moment where he carefully keeps an eye on Wriothesley's actions but decides to keep standing. he glances at the soggy surroundings, "Do you know why it's happening then? Care to full me in."

"It's... not good." His shoulders slump a little and he rubs a hand over his face.

"Lady Furina..." He doesn't know if she and Kaeya were acquainted. He hopes this isn't how he's learning about a friend or acquaintance's death. "I believe she's dead. Monsieur Neuvillette is... grieving her passing. The rain is his." His voice is grim and soft. His Archon died - somehow - and he still doesn't know all the details. All he can do is wait for Neuvillette to be ready to talk.

Kaeya's expression grrows quite serious as he realizes exactly what is being said. "Lady Furina has... passed? How?!" he almost whispers, just enough to be heard. His expression furrows in worry after the shock leaves his expression. "I... didn't think..."

It doesn't make sense if an Archon of all people died....

"I'm... sorry for his loss," he states. It's probably not a good idea to disturb him.

"I don't... I don't know." Wriothesley shakes his head helplessly. "I haven't been able to talk to him yet. I just know that it's the only thing that could possibly have him in this state. The rain usually stays outdoors, at the very least." There's another bitter laugh. It hurts to watch Neuvillette mourning like this.

He nods slowly, accepting the condolences. "They've known each other for centuries. That kind of grief... I can't imagine trying to carry it."

Kaeya's expression grows serious. "That... would make sense, I'd imagine. I fear I don't know much about Fontain connections, so I'll have to take your word for it," he states with a gesture, letting the rain fall on his arm.

"It would be quite a shock to anyone, let alone knowing someone for that long," he agrees. "... I assume that it may rain for a... few more days at least then... If anything I wouldn't expect anything less."

"They've been ruling Fontaine more or less as a team since... well, pretty much since the Cataclysm. Lady Furina's predecessor died near Khaenri'ah during the fighting, and Neuvillette came to Fontaine shortly afterwards." Wriothesley's the only one of Fontaine's highest level of government with a normal human lifespan, which is very fun and fine for him.

"I would expect so, yes. Fortunately it seems like it's mostly pure Hydro rather than normal water, so it should dissipate eventually rather than causing too much damage. Otherwise everything around here would be falling apart pretty quickly." Unless it's directed, Hydro energy isn't that destructive. Just wet, for a while.

"Sounds like quite the history," Kaeya muses. "I'd assume something like that would feel as if there was a hole there." He knows how it feels, but moves over it as quickly as possible.

He breathes a sigh, "Well that's at least good... A silver lining in a rather tragic events." He looks around at the current mess around the place, many things at risk of being waterlogged. "Any plans on assisting him? Or holding some kind of service?"
